A unique visual signature based on accords, character, and seasonality
A burst of pomegranate juice meets zesty bergamot and lemon, clean and almost juicy on the opening spray—think biting into a sun-warmed citrus fruit on a Sicilian hillside. The initial impression is genuinely appetising, bright enough to cut through any trace of perfumer's alcohol.
The florals emerge reluctantly, jasmine sambac adding a faint creamy sweetness that competes rather than harmonises with persistent lemon blossom notes. Peony dusts everything with a powder-soft veil, but the overall effect feels scattered—individual notes rather than a cohesive whole.
Within four hours, the composition has become a ghost of itself. The base notes—ostensibly ambrox and musk—provide only the faintest warmth, a skin scent bordering on undetectable. Sandalwood never materialises meaningfully; instead, you're left with an abstract softness, barely distinguishable from your own skin's natural warmth.
Eros pour Femme arrives as a contradictory proposition: a feminine fragrance that whispers rather than commands, floral yet underpinned by an insistent citrus brightness. Alberto Morillas has crafted something simultaneously fresh and indulgent, though the architecture reveals troubling proportions. The pomegranate opening—tart, slightly astringent—meets Sicilian lemon and bergamot with genuine vibrancy, creating an initial impression of Mediterranean vitality. Yet therein lies the problem: this opening act is essentially the entire performance.
The heart notes should provide narrative development. Jasmine sambac absolute and peony emerge, lending a powdery, almost soapy femininity, but they arrive hesitantly, as if apologising for their own presence. The lemon blossom only amplifies the fresh rather than deepening the floral—there's insufficient interplay between the two, merely stacking rather than blending. Ambrox and musk attempt to anchor the composition in the base, but they arrive too faintly to matter. The woody notes and sandalwood never truly establish themselves, instead diffusing into a gentle, indistinct warmth.
