Nimerè
A unique visual signature based on accords, character, and seasonality
Bright citrus burst—bergamot and mandarin crackling over the skin—immediately tempered by myrrh's resinous, almost funeral-parlour sweetness. Bay leaf adds savoury sharpness, creating an opening that feels simultaneously fresh and vaguely unsettling.
The gasoline note emerges with startling clarity, cutting through the woody base like a metallic thread. Patchouli grounds everything with earthy warmth whilst sage whispers sharp green herbaceousness, creating an oddly compelling tension between comfort and unease that evolves rather than resolves.
White musk wraps itself around lingering cedarwood and a faint ghost of that peculiar petrol quality, now softened and somehow more abstract. The sedum adds a strange, almost mineral quality as the fragrance settles into something quieter, more contemplative—less challenging, finally, but no less strange.
Nimerè occupies a peculiar and fascinating middle ground—a fragrance that resists easy categorisation by insisting on its own idiosyncratic logic. Whilst the name promises something fruited and approachable, what emerges from the bottle is far more cerebral and deliberately unsettling. The opening assault of bergamot and mandarin orange suggests conventional citrus freshness, but myrrh immediately destabilises that expectation, introducing a resinous, almost medicinal quality that transforms what could have been a bright morning fragrance into something altogether stranger.
The heart is where Nimerè reveals its true character. Here, a genuinely peculiar note—described as "gasoline"—cuts through the precious woods and cedarwood with startling honesty. This isn't the clean petrol of a petrichor fragrance; rather, it's the acrid, slightly metallic quality of petrol fumes on a hot tarmac, rendered as a fragrance note. Some will find this off-putting; others will recognise it as a deliberate artistic gesture, the olfactory equivalent of a Lucian Freud portrait—unflinching and rather unsettling. The patchouli lends earthiness, whilst sage adds herbaceous sharpness.
