A unique visual signature based on accords, character, and seasonality
Coffee and almond hit simultaneously, bitter and nutty, with bergamot providing a fleeting brightness that's quickly overwhelmed by the gourmand intensity. There's a boozy, almost liqueur-like quality to the almond, whilst the coffee reads as freshly ground beans rather than brewed liquid. The citrus elements struggle briefly before surrendering entirely to the heavier players.
Tuberose emerges with its characteristic waxy, narcotic density, entwining with jasmine sambac's animalic undertones to create a white floral accord that's more seductive than pretty. The orange blossom adds honey-like sweetness whilst Bulgarian rose contributes a jammy richness, all of which sits atop that persistent almond-coffee base like cream floating on espresso. The florals don't lighten the composition—they make it headier, more intoxicating.
The sweetness consolidates into a skin-hugging blend of tonka, vanilla, and praline, with cacao adding an unsweetened, cocoa-powder dryness that prevents it from becoming cloying. Sandalwood and patchouli provide a subtle woody frame, whilst the almond persists as a ghost note, now softened and almost marzipan-like. What remains is plush, enveloping, and distinctly edible without quite crossing into bakery territory.
Good Girl opens with a jolt—roasted coffee beans meeting amaretto-soaked almonds in a collision that's simultaneously comforting and confrontational. Louise Turner's composition doesn't ease you in; that bitter-sweet opening is a statement, almond and coffee grinding against citrus brightness like espresso cut with a twist of lemon peel. But this isn't a linear gourmand. Within minutes, tuberose muscles its way through, bringing its creamy, almost rubbery intensity to tangle with jasmine sambac's indolic richness. The white florals don't soften the gourmand elements—they amplify them, creating something more complex than the sum of its parts.
The base is where Good Girl reveals its real architecture. Tonka bean and praline wrap around the lingering almond, whilst cacao adds a dusty, unsweetened depth that prevents the vanilla from tipping into pure dessert territory. Sandalwood and patchouli provide just enough woody backbone to ground the sweetness, though make no mistake—this wears sweet, and it wears loud. The cashmere wood adds a modern, clean-laundry facet that keeps it from feeling vintage despite the classic floral heart.
