The initial spray delivers a sharp, zesty burst of bergamot and grapefruit that feels almost aggressive in its freshness, a citrus clash that cuts through the air with crispness. Within moments, however, the effervescence begins to settle, the oils seeming to dry down rather quickly against the skin, revealing an almost transparent quality to the opening.

As the composition settles (around 45 minutes in), the mint and pine emerge with surprising clarity, creating a herbaceous, almost green-leafed quality that transforms the fragrance into something considerably cooler and more introspective. The oakmoss and leather now become apparent, lending an earthy, slightly weathered character that anchors the fresh notes—think dried herbs pressed between pages of a leather-bound book.

By the fourth hour, what remains is predominantly leather and a faint, honeyed sweetness from the tonka bean, now stripped of the florals and freshness that characterised the earlier phases. The musk provides a skin-scent quality, intimate and barely detectable to those beyond arm's length, while the styrax adds a subtle resinous warmth that fades into a skin-like whisper well before the six-hour mark.
