The fir resin and cardamom slam forward with sharp, almost cleaning-product brightness, the lemon and orange arriving crystalline and slightly artificial, as if you've just crushed citrus peels near a pine forest. It's jarring, unapologetic, entirely unwilling to ease you in.
The rosemary creeps in with herbaceous insistence, softening the aggression slightly whilst the lily of the valley adds a powdery, slightly soapy character. Rose and jasmine flicker beneath, struggling against the woody synthetic framework that dominates—this is where Fierce becomes something almost wearable.
The oakmoss and vetiver establish themselves as the fragrance fades rapidly, leaving behind a faint woody musk that clings weakly to the skin. Within hours, very little remains; you're left with a whisper of damp earth and vanishing florals, testing your patience with its refusal to project or linger.
Fierce is a fragrance caught between two identities—a crisp, aggressively cheerful citrus that refuses to whisper. Christophe Laudamiel has constructed something deliberately synthetic, almost plasticky in its brightness; the cardamom and fir resin in the opening create an unexpected sharpness, like walking into a pine-scented bathroom after a citrus cleaner's been sprayed. It's unsettling in the best way, the lemon and petitgrain arriving with an almost medicinal clarity before the florals blur everything into something softer and more traditionally cologne-like.
The rosemary and lily of the valley combination suggests something herbal and green rather than sweetly floral—there's an herbaceous scratchiness that prevents Fierce from ever becoming conventionally pretty. The rose and jasmine attempt sophistication, but they feel somewhat sidelined by the synthetic framework that holds everything together. This is a fragrance that wants to be memorable for its strangeness, not its comfort.
